THE ORIGINS

As far back as I can remember, art has always been a part of my life. From a very young age, I felt this irresistible need to doodle or paint. My parents encouraged this passion, often putting a pencil and a sheet of paper in my hands. Their support nourished this creative desire, anchored in me since childhood. Growing up, I explored different styles, navigating between drawing and painting, in search of my own artistic identity. I experimented with everything from cartoon-style drawing to abstract painting. However, one constant has always marked my creations: the vibrant presence of color, and this deep desire to please through my art, to bring something positive to others. In 2019, I discovered psychedelic culture, a fascinating universe that encompasses spiritual exploration and creativity. This immersion rekindled in me the desire to create, while emphasizing meditation, contemplation, and spirituality. This inner journey continued to evolve, and in 2023, after a significant experience, my concept was finally born. That's when I started the art of pointillism. Point by point, my mandalas come to life, revealing shapes with multiple dimensions. Thus was born Mahom, a project where art becomes a meditation, both for you and for me, merging psychedelia, contemplation, exploration and perception.

THE CONCEPT

I create both “classic” mandalas and mandalas that reveal optical illusions, involving relief, depth, and effects of movement, which I call “dimension”. Each mandala is made with acrylic paint, in pointillism entirely done by hand. Each point, without exception, is carefully reinforced or superimposed, creating a unique texture in relief. My work explores the marriage between symmetry and psychedelic energy, offering a new perspective to the viewer. Beyond the dimensional patterns and shapes, I add a projection of various lights to enrich the visual experience. Although I work primarily in natural light, I enrich my canvases with additional visual dimensions by designing them to react to ultraviolet (UV) and RGB (red, green, blue) lights. Each mandala is designed from six basic colors, integrating specific pigments. These pigments allow me to create a harmonious palette that interacts with the different types of light. My goal is to create multiple visions from a single work, allowing the viewer to rediscover art in different forms of light.

THE MANDALA

The mandala has its roots in Hinduism and Buddhism, where it symbolizes the universe and harmony. It is used in many cultures, such as Tibet and India, to represent the path to enlightenment and unity. Its benefits include relaxation and calming the mind. By creating or contemplating it, one enters a meditative state, promoting mental and emotional balance. Mathematically, the mandala is based on symmetry and sacred geometry. Each shape follows a precise order, illustrating universal harmony and the interconnectedness of all things.
